Race Across America
The long
3052 mile Cross-Continental cycle journey through the heartland of
American is over for 2005. Arguable the greatest endurance event in
the world this arduous test has found another hero. First year Rookie
Chris MacDonald shocked all by his 2nd placing in the time
of 10 days 2 hours 1 minute averaging 12.61mph for the event.
The event
was raced in extremely hot conditions which took its toll on many
competitors but MacDonald was able to beat much of the effects of the
heat by using the Arctic Heat Body Cooling Vest. Chris interchanged 2
vests whenever needed during the race and says they made an amazing
difference to his performance. By using the Arctic Heat Body Cooling
Vest and neck wraps MacDonald was able to keep his core temperature
stable and greatly reduce his perspiration rate allowing him to
perform at his maximum for long periods and far more efficient
recovery during his breaks.
MacDonald
said the vest was very easy to use and its light weight was a
feature. He was also most impressed with its ability to be cooled in
an esky of ice or ice water making the vest great for this type of
event where you do not have access to fridge or freezers. I would
recommend the vest in any situation where heat stress is a
consideration said a very satisfied Chris MacDonald.
